Hey, sorry to hear you are feeling like crap. How to apply yourself... Is to think about why you wanted to study the course you are going to be studying. Something about it was interesting to you... Presumably... To try and get into the spirit of that attitude.
Sometimes people find that it helps them to think of something longer term. Especially if they are doing a course more as a requirement for something that they want to do that doesn't happen until much further down the track.
I find it helps to study in bed. Because when the semester gets underway I often feel like I'm over-stimulated by everything and I'm not getting enough sleep, yeah. Bed it pretty comfortable if you have lots of pillows. Try and get oneself into an attitude of curiosity...
