I agree with K2tog, do anything you like doing (yoga, cooking, baking something delicious, exercising, painting, meditating, anything) to get your mind off of the anxiety. Anxiety gets worse because we think about it over and over again, it becomes like this snowball effect.
I also read something that said anxiety might be because of a low level of serotonin in our brains, serotonin is the "happy hormone" that makes us feel really good and like everything is okay. So doing things that you like to do, and trying to incorporate more activities that you love doing in your daily life will make you happier. Practice this every day though, because when you make it a part of your life to take a few hours out of your day to make yourself happy, then your anxiety could very well go down.
