Hello:

I have taken a weight loss medication called Tenuate.
For me it also causes a marked improvement in my mental outlook and ability to interact and socialize with other people. Its a state of mind
I would like to maintain for the sake of my families happieness too.
(I have always been shy and have become increasingly withdrawn and often depressed as I have aged with my ability to interact comfortably with other people has diminished).

I talked to my doctor about this and he gave me a sample of Wellbutrin. It
really had no effect on me at all.
Later he gave me a sample of Provigil (Modafinil) which I am trying now. It
seems to have a minor effect but Ive only just taken it 1 day. Im a bit
worried that the doctor is just experimenting wide of the mark. The
Provigil is for a sleep disorder....not for depression.

What drug family is used to treat mental heath issues that provide the
improved state of mind I get when I take Tenuate? I would like to suggest
to the doctor a drug or several drugs that may have the same chemical
mechanism as Tenuate to improve my mood and outgoingness.

Tenuate opened a door for me by improving my outlook and the way people view
me. Its important for me to find an appropriate treatment that I can
continue indefinately.

Any thoughts or direction to lead me in this discovery and potentially guide
my doctor too?

Thank you in advance for any thoughts or help!
