Hi Piano,
I used to do a lot of this, but reduced it a
good deal when I found out that a lot of the time I
was condemning ALL of myself, for a PART of
myself! It's called 'The whole of,part of,error',and is
when we condemn whole of self, for part of self.
Let's say you have spat with daughter, and you say
something you later regret. That's only a PART of
you! You/we are much too multifaceted to condemn
ourselves for parts we pick out arbitrarily to damn.
Look at it in reverse: Do you think you are a saint
because you do ONE good deed? Of course not!
See how you are doing opposite to dear self?
I would not be without the following book:
"Self-Compassion" by Kristin Neff,she has a web
site,so put her name in search box and have a look.
Kind Regards,
BLUEDOVE
