Well, the plot thickens.

Right before I left for lunch, my HR rep called. I got that nasty anonymous email at work yesterday, and forwarded it to our IT guys to see if there was any way they could track down the sender. The head of the department responded to me and CC'd the editor in chief and HR. I hadn't told either of those folks about this before -- I don't know if I'm glad somebody did it for me or not.

Anyway, I was told that they're going to look into this, and she wanted to know if I thought it was someone we work with. I said yes, I thought it was my officemate. I feel all slimy and gross and disgusting and weaselly, because I should have had the guts to confront him before I took it to the company higher-ups. And I'm going to feel REALLY slimy and gross and disgusting if they fire him!!!

Shoulda just kept my mouth shut -- no trouble that way.....
