We have a lot in common.

I've been struggling with emetephobia, since I was 9 which eventually lead to a germ phobia that then mutated into OCD. I also have severe anxiety (GAD) that primarily affects my stomach and back muscles. Often I feel old and achy. Nausea and indigestion occur almost daily.
My anxiety is so exhausting that I require a lot of sleep.

The emetephobia, anxiety and OCD feed each other. I have autism spectrum disorder which explains a lot of this.

I found being open about my fears and taking medication (Cipralex) helpful.
I used to do everything I could to hid my fear which put a lot of pressure on me. Now that I'm open about it, the anxiety associated with it has eased. Now, I can eat in restaurants and be around people who are sick. It isn't perfect, but it is manageable.
