The overwhelming feelings and feelings of defeat overtake my brief feeling of accomplishment because it took so much time and energy to get the little bit done that I did.
Also I sometimes do this thing that I recently found out has a name---churning. Churning is when you go through your stuff and clear a space but you don't actually get rid of the stuff that was in the space you cleared but rather just find another hidey-hole for it somewhere else in the house.

I also get overwhelmed and this is another reason my house looks like it does! I've never heard of churning, but I certainly do this as well! I also think my perfectionism that gets in the way, and self defeating thoughts.
