I had been seeing this trauma specialist woman T...she wanted to do prolonged exposure therapy...but I couldn't do it my choice but the rest she does is dbt. I found the skills helpful but never really have an outlet for the pain and sometimes crazy making feelings I get... It just didn't work out.
I'm taking a break for a while so no T for me.

There was an article in the nytimes about prolonged exposure therapy by a former marine who went to Iraq as a reporter. It sounds to me like they threw the baby out with the bathwater. As in, t can get naturally repetitive, but thats not something a t should tell a client to do, cold, as a "technique." My repeating myself helps me now, at this late date, with a safe t.
