Ok, well I was called on Saturday or Sunday to be reminded of an appointment today at 10:00 am. I'm all ready to go and I get a call an hour before my appointment: "I'm sorry but doctor -so and so- isn't going to be in today" well ok I might understand that. They have a 48 or 24 hour cancellation policy. In the last practice I went to, I was in the van they provided who had just picked me up from my home town, on my way to my appointment when the therapist herself called and said she had an emergency and couldn't come. So with a cancellation policy that fines you if you don't show up, why can psychiatrists cancel an hour before the appointment? And why can't they give me proper notice?! This has happened four or five times, and I was placed on same-day sick for missing three appointments during a blizzard. I have schizoaffective and adhd diagnosed. I need to go to the appointment to get a refill of my adhd medication which I can't today now that the new psychiatrist canceled.
