SD, consider that an "un"hug, and Shakey you have an extra! Being sick is the pits. Hope you are on the mend.
SD, my daughter has panic attacks almost daily, sometimes multiple times daily. The most helpful advice she was able to get to "stop one in it's tracks" is to submerge your hands up to the wrists in ice water, or to breathe through a drinking straw. There is some meditation and self-talk in there, too, but mainly the shock to the system and the deliberate slowing of the breath.
I think the "hidden" stressors is so much bunk. I should know if something is bothering me or not! Are you sure there isn't a physical reason for your rapid heartbeat or respirations?
