My sister and I had a discussion that each of us would find the other's romantic relationship style intolerable. Honest to god, I would start throwing elbows and punching the person in the face if the partner would be all in my space the way her romantic partner is in hers. My H had to learn to not let it hurt his feelings when I would just suddenly lose the ability to allow him to touch and start yelling GET OFF GET OFF GETOFFGETOFFGETOFF! He also learned quite rapidly not to trap my legs under the covers or touch my feet without warning me.

I feel a little badly that my children also learned not to touch me while I am sleeping. I never hurt them, but I did frighten them by bolting upright and grabbing them when they touched me while I was sleeping.
