You don't have any choice about who are your family members, but you can choose to ignore them and what they say... they sound nasty, and they upset you, but it doesn't mean that what they say is TRUE. You know that too, you keep saying that what they say isn't true. Just because they KNOW you doesn't mean they KNOW you, if that makes sense. They probably see what they want to see, and not the 'real you'.
