Hi fayerody,

Yes, I was sedated in the hospital for the procedure. I had the choice of either being frozen, or sedated and frozen. Guess what I chose?? Being an anxious person, oral surgeons scare the poopy out of me!! Lol. So I got to have Fentanyl and Versed, but he really had to overdose me with that Versed because I just was not feeling it. I even still remember most of the surgery, and definately let them know when it HURT!!!!!!!

The reason a regular dentist can't pull a tooth for me is because my roots (?)...the lower part of the tooth....tend to curve and wrap around my jawbone. A dentist is scared that he might break off a piece of my jawbone, and a dental office is not prepared for that type of situation. So it always has to be an oral surgeon. And sedation was an option that I chose.

Actually, like I was telling heyjoe, I had a fractured nose years ago.....and it didn't swell at all. Hurt non-stop for weeks, but never did swell. And my jaw isn't swollen in the least. I think it's just a very simple injury. But thanks for the concern. I think it's gotten to the point of healing that I don't need as much Ibuprofen anymore. And I'm glad that I didn't have to be responsible for a complaint being in this resident's file. I think that he'll be an excellent surgeon with the more procedures he performs. He seemed very good with people.

God bless,
Sandy
