Lift (light) weights first, for about 20-30 mins, or however long you can last. Then, move on to cardio. There is a reason for this.

Lifting weights relies mostly on energy from Carbohydrates in your blood stream (Glucose), while cardio relies on both Carbs and Fat. So, if you lift weights first, you will drain your blood stream of Carbs. Then, when you do cardio, guess what's the dominant energy source ? Fat.

Also, burning fat relies HEAVILY on a LOT of Oxygen (hence the association between fat and aerobic exercise). So, make sure to breathe well and regularly while exercising, in general. The better you breathe, the more your body will be able to burn fat. If you don't breathe well, you'll burn some fat and a lot of Carbs. In a nutshell.

There's a lot more to it than that, but trust me - this will make a big difference Source - the last 7 years of my life.
