The best I've felt all week: a kid in the pizza store had a credit card that wouldn't go through, so I paid for his slice. For $2, I felt good for an hour.
Three days ago I walked past a homeless guy who asked for a quarter. I reached into my pocket for a $1, and pulled out a $5 I didn't know I had...so I gave it to him.
I am not a generous person and this is the first homeless guy I've seen in a year. I didn't do it because of that. I did it because I felt bad and I wanted to feel good. Worked like a charm.
i won't do it often - I'm still cheap as heck - but I want to remember to give unexpectedly, from time to time, because it feels so good.
