Ode to a Toad

you my dear pollywog
are pretty darn neat
watching you swim around
this little pond
has been such a treat
but now you seem much
happier since you grew
from a tad
you’re such a more
merry toad
hopping
pad to pad
the pond
is such a little place
in such a big big world
remember little froggie
your way back
to the Garden green
and the little pond within
recall too the little ones
who watched in wonder
and found you such a treat
I hope you find your way home
someday little froggie
where you grew your feet
