I don't believe you need to change on regardless of who you like. I think much of hostility in a society is perceived by you rather than being real. Since you really aren't dating anyone society cannot be hostile to you for who you date since you simply do not date anyone! . you focus on what your brother or some others might think about something you aren't even doing ! rather than focusing on how to improve your social skills so you can start dating.
