Since it takes 6 months it sounds like you would have had to extend your stay if they didn't put you out in 10 days. I doubt that would have been good for anyone considering the tension.
I recall the news about Marines peeing on dead bodies but I don't recall hearing anything about Army Soldiers.
I hope you can figure things out soon. I've never been homeless and hope I never am. If you ever get out to St. Louis maybe you can stop in and check out your records in person. Your jump record might be altered but they can't alter your start and end date. I don't believe they consider basic training or AIT and brig time as being on active duty. It's been awhile since I've read up on this stuff so I could be wrong.
