I think you're exactly right, therapy is set up to amplify the issues you carry with you on a multitude of things. Therapists are trained to get these reactions and emotional responses out of you to promote growth and understanding. I hope that you are able to find someone with whom you can work well, and perhaps cone to a better understanding of yourself and your ability to connect with others.
