You are not stupid. You were just trusting and evidently the person you trusted did not honor that trust. Be gentle with yourself.
I'm sorry you are having to change therapist. That is never easy if it is someone that you liked and felt a connection with.
Again, be gentle with yourself. You are going to come out the other side and will be okay.
