I don't know if I agree with the notion that people with depression are often uniquely talented and expressive. Honestly I don't think there's a greater distribution of talent among depressed people than the general population. Some are talented, others aren't, and if they are, then it's despite their depression, not because of it. Actually the whole point sounds like someone's confusing melancholy with depression while trying to sound poetic.
