I'm definitely a naturally curious person. I love to understand things...but when a topic grabs me in an obsessive way, its different than when I just want to learn/know about something. I won't be able to sleep. I will check out every single book on the topic. I will spend days, sometimes weeks, looking up the topic, taking notes...it will be all I can think about. My anxiety will skyrocket until suddenly, with no warning, I won't care about the topic anymore...won't want to look at anything to do with it. Just BOOM...done.
I guess there are good things about this happening...I mean, I do well at Wii Jeopardy. lol But it doesn't feel good while its happening, Not at all. I think it would be fine if I could find a way to minimize the obsessive part of it. To just think, hey that sounds interesting, I think I will read A book or TWO on that topic...not oh crud, the next 3 months of my life are going to be about this topic. Not sure how to get there though.
