I'm not sure it's possible to purge 'every now and then'. It's so addictive, you let yourself do it just once and next thing you know, you get the urge every time you eat. Besides, it's not an effective way to lose weight, because your body will still absorb a lot of the calories, and afterwards your body will want more food to make up for the lost nutrients.
