I was once told (I have had 4 pdocs in 5 years - they all leave and go to work for a company) that I have Bipolar 2.
Just switched from Cymbalta to Wellbutrin for the depression. Thought it was ok at first, but the deep dark hole of depression started again this past weekend.
Now, I haven't slept at all for two nights, and Monday night only slept about 4 hours. (I normally need 7-8 hours)
I also take Klonopin and Neurontin at night, I guess to help sleep. Well, I'm groggy from taking those, but no sign of sleep ahead.
Is this possibly a manic episode, or just a bad reaction to Wellbutrin?
I also started itching last night to the point I had to take Benadryl (which should also make you sleepy). Itching stopped.
Called pdoc first thing this morning - he still hasn't called me back. Don't know if I can go another night without sleep, don't know if I should take Wellbutrin today or not.
This is awful. You take SSRI antidepressants, and you have all of these side effects - heaving sweating, weight gain, no desire for sex. You try something else, and you cannot even function. You kind of feel like "is it really worth all this"? Not suicidal, just frustrated and feeling a bit hopeless.
Any ideas - manic or reaction to meds? Thanks.
