Meeting someone through online dating (okcupid, match, etc) going on a handful of dates, and then having sex is very common and probably healthy. Meeting men online (through something like craiglist) and having sex immediately is less common and probably less healthy. You really should know some basics about someone before sex for safety reasons (and probably emotional ones too). Good job on tossing the number. Sounds like a healthy decision.
