I grew up with a toy poodle named Becky. She licked my tears when I cried and was my bestest friend ever. As they say '"I like my pets more than I like most people"!

I did not think I would EVER get over her. I had another dog about 5 years later and it wasn't the same, so I stuck with cats even though I was allergic!

When I had my knee replaced three years ago I figured it was a good time to get a puppy since I would be out of work for awhile. I ended up getting another toy poodle and guess what her name is? Izzy!

I had a nurse when I was in the rehab hospital after the surgery and her name was Izzy, she was so sweet and kind that I named the dog after her and then sent her a card with her picture in it.

I love Izzy differently than Becky - but I lover her just as much. I am definately bonded!

It takes time, it might just be too soon, but don't be hard on yourself.
