While I certainly agree with filing a report--eventually-- I think the first priority in a violation is the client taking care, returning to her own truths, finding her own balance. I think that has to happen before taking steps to protect the rest of the community.

Filing a grievance is extremely difficult. Any therapist who's unethical likely is a liar and likely will stop at nothing to make the client look like the crazy one. Then also the offense not only has to be concrete, it has to be documented and provable.

Therapists exploitation is such a betrayal of trust. It's one thing labeled as another. Making that paradigm shift can take processing and time.
