Note that it is important to first check for the many medical/nutritional issues that might be a problem. There are many things to try that are known to help depression which are just great for your health anyway. Doesn't it make sense to try these? Especially since you are having trouble with giving things up, I really suggest you try "SNAP CLUB" described at the top of this thread:

It is super easy and fun to do, it usually works and you usually get positive results quickly (1-2 days sometimes immediately) and if it works it will help you take more steps on your upward path. As soon as you find something that's REALLY helping, I think your problem with patience may disappear. I found that when something really works, it's SUCH a relief that motivation to keep doing it is not a problem at all.

Thanks man, but I don't know if this is powerful enough to save me from years of addiction, anxiety, isolation, and hopelessness. Maybe it is, but I've tried everything under the sun so I'm kinda skeptical about the whole snapping thing.
