Hello Gretnabride,

Ok, I presume your doctor is aware of your mental health issues? Your GP and or mental health professionals can make a referral and I believe you can make a self-referral to the Community Mental Health Team, they then do an assessment of your needs and then they decide from their the treatment options for you. If you are already under a psychiatrist then he would refer you to the service if he felt it was necessary, usually you would be assigned a CPN if you were needing extra support.
