Is great for my lingering depression.

Self care = going to an AA meeting and then lunch with a friend afterward. She's one of my friends that I was going to do the 55-mile relay race with. I think I need to tell her today that, due to my fibromyalgia, I don't think I'll be in shape enough to do a 3.4 mile leg of the race by the end of April.

It would be awesome if, eventually, I could work my way up to running a 5k. At this point, it seems like a pipe dream. I know of other people who have fibromyalgia and run miles, so they're an inspiration for me. They speak of getting painful flares occasionally from their running. I really wonder if they get the tremendous fatigue that I get as part of my flares. Monday I have an appointment with my physician and I'm going to talk to him about my exercise-induced flares to see if he has any treatment/prevention ideas.

Thanks for reading my long post!
5k? As in 5km? As in 3.1 miles? I'd like to try that, but the last time I jogged outside properly (also the first time hah, since my shins keep getting sore, I went towards long-distance walking) it was half an hour or something, possibly up to 2 miles. I was wrecked afterwards, but it felt amazing. I had to keep stopping and starting... dunno how people jog for so long without stopping.

I like to think I'm relatively healthy (albeit overweight) but man jogging/running makes you realise just how out of shape you are. I'll give it another go soon, since I'm a few lbs lighter. I'm biking more, interval style (1 mintes) on the hardest setting, so hopefully that'll sorta train me up.

Totally agree. Kinda wish I didn't make myself so much of a Billy Nomates, because it's hard to get that sorta social, almost extraverted life back again. x_x At least it is for me. xD
