Teeth do hurt when they come in. But having wisdom teeth out isn't inevitable. I still have all mine and I'm of a mature vintage. It depends on if they come in crooked or straight and how much room you have in your mouth for teeth. One of my shows up lopsided on x-ray, but there was room for it and there were no impactions or problems after the initial discomfort, which made me feel sick all over for a while -- feverish, nauseated, and in pain, like a teething baby. It was probably that crooked one that caused the most distress. And it's still there, silent and causing no trouble. I wish you the best and hope all goes well for you.
