I take one Benadryl at bedtime and have for years. I'd say YES, one can be addicted to them.
Like any anti-histamine, too much / too many can have bad effects on one's kidneys....
Stopping them, if you take many, will cause a rebound sinusitis. Possibly tapering off would work.
