Oh wow, that sounds like a tough place to be in. Your experiences with your mental health treatment rang a bell with me. I went to a community mental health center about five years ago, and it was mostly a dismal experience. My meds were prescribed by undertrained paraprofessionals that were supposed to be consulting with psychiatrists but never seemed to do so.
I'd go to a therapist 2-3 times then they would leave for another job.
The only person there who helped me at all was my case manager who ended up acting as a sort of life coach for me.
I was eventually able to find better care, but it's very scary to look at the quality of some of the resources that are supposed to be our "mental health care".
I see that you're in the UK. Maybe you could post a new thread with "UK" in it asking for suggestions? Your health care system is so different from ours in the US.
Do you have any people that you can talk to? Samaritans? Friends, teachers, ministers, old hippies? Not being silly - I have had helpful talks with really unexpected people sometimes.
