Some tampons are made with GMO cotton that has a natural insecticide genetically grown in the cotton fibers. Some people are sensitive to it and it can cause burning, pain and even blisters. I'm one of the people who's sensitive. You may have to try several brands to find one that's comfortable. I've had the best luck with Tampax brand.
