Xanax will help with anxiety, but, in my case, I became addicted to it. I also suffer from anxiety, had a bad bout today. I no longer go to my doctor for Xanax, and he probably wouldn't give it to me anyway, since he knows how hard it was for me to wean myself off it! I had severe withdrawal. Others don't seem to have this problem, but as a person prone to addiction, myself, it worked, but I liked it so much I became addicted. The withdrawal from this med was not fun for me, requiring me to go to bed and just withstand it!
