Thanks, Beth. We're hoping so.

Thank you, Annie.

UPDATE -

Doctors! ARGH!!!!!

The endo's office called today and they'd messed up. They told us that her counts looked good...counts for grave's and which would indicate hyperthyroidism.

We went to the ER last Saturday, right? We told them, then told OB last week that her counts looked good so the heart acting up couldn't be from hyperthyroidism...in fact that was the nurse's exact words..."If it keeps up go to ER because it's not due to hyperthyroidism. Your counts look good." We don't know if the dr. messed up or the nurse did because this is the same nurse that writes down 72 for a heartrate every time daughter goes in when it's not been that for a year!

Anyhow, the endo's office must've received the same report that the OB received from the ER. They called today to ask daughter if she'd increased her PTU as stated. NUTS! They said her counts were OK so the increase probably wasn't necessary. She didn't increase!

They informed her that her FT4 is 5.3!!! For those of you that aren't aware, that's very OFF...about five times higher than should be and indicating, of course, pretty significant hyperthyroidism. ARGH!!!! The highest it's ever been was in the beginning when she first went and that was 4.5.

That's why she is getting hepatitis again. That's why her heart is out of control with sinus tachycardia and another type of arythmia.

We saw the cardio today and she's to have an ultrasound of her heart to make sure it's not been damaged through all this.

I do feel better in that he explained her severe weakness, dizziness and shortness of breath are all explained by this, then add hyperthyroidism and pregnancy, it's ten-fold.

This leaves the very serious question...why is she hyperthyroid again when it should be stabalizing and she's taking her meds??? This med isn't even for pregnant women and now she has to take even more than she should.

If her hyperthyroidism doesn't calm, or her liver counts increase, she could be looking at surgery while pregnant if it's determined that Jonathan wouldn't do well outside. Then, they might have to make a decision which would be safer for him...inside or outside.

Sooo...

She has to have more bloodwork Monday, then an appt. set with endo. Also Monday she's to have a high risk ultra sound to check the baby thoroughly...specifically his growth, head and thyroid. See, if the antibodies cross the placenta, he can be hyperthyroid with an enlarged thyroid and need meds. If the PTU crosses the placenta, he can be born hypothyroid and need meds. The high risk is his developing tachycardia while still in the womb which could reduce his blood flow to the brain. He's not done that at all that has been noticed. She has to have more tests Wednesday then, and see the OB the following Weds.

She's to take a beta-blocker now twice per day regularly to regulate her heart as well as slow it down.

My poor baby. She's so traumatized and dumbstruck, living an existence that is beyond her.

Continued thoughts and prayers PLEASE~

KD
