I have no reason actually to believe my doctor will say "tough s**t." I'm just projecting my fear of asking for help with this problem. I come from a family tradition of "toughing it out", so I probably just naturally expect authority figures to all tell me that. I also worry because she is a brand new doc (so won't have a lot of experience prescribing anxiety meds) and is in a clinic where they tend to take the lowest intervention possible route. But maybe she will be receptive to my need. She does want to put me on blood pressure meds so I know she isn't scared to prescribe when need be. Maybe she can just give me a prescription to tide me over for a month or two until I can get an appointment to see a psychiatrist.
