I first realised something was wrong when I was 14, and i know how hard it can be especially when your family don't really understand. I agree with jaciRock, the first place I felt I got really helpful support was at school. It was a huge and scary step, but I spoke to my form tutor who sorted out a meeting with our school counsellor and it was a massive help. It's different here in the UK - from 16 we can go to our doctor without our parents needing to know anything about it so I was then able to reach out for support myself.
