I have worried about what people think of me since I was a little kid and I learned if I said or did the wrong thing I got punished. It was an adaption that helped me survive childhood but is no longer useful. In fact it gets in the way sometime.

But the other side of that is I am more sensitive to reading peoples subtle cues.
