I've been on disability for almost 2 years. I have told very few people that I am on it. I have friends who have figured it out but none of them have asked why I was getting it. The people who have a problem with me not working are also the ones who think I'm making it up and that I am lazy. I try to remind myself of how many people are turned down for disability and the struggles that the system puts them thru and I think that if I am bad enough to convince someone who is trying to deny me then it must be true and that helps me to ignore the negative people.

As far as how much.... I don't remember how it is calculated but you can log into Social Security and that can give you estimates and the real numbers once they are posted. Below is the link to the log in page. Hope it helps.
