I may be wrong but it seems like perhaps the lack of motivation may also be due to the fact that you haven't had much luck in finding a job in your field. Which is very common, don't let that bring you down be proud that you achieved a degree to begin with.
I think it's cool that you're volunteering and keeping yourself active. I would do the same, try to volunteer for something similar or related to counseling if it's possible. And if you're able to go back to school for your masters in Psychology (which will open up many more opportunities or Marriage/Family therapy then even better! It may increase your chances of finding a job in the field.
I would say, continue trying to find a job in the Psychology field with your BA that can help you move forward. Or go back to school for something specific in psychology, like you mentioned therapy/counseling. Your degree is not useless, just have to find the right opportunity and it's there don't give up on yourself
