Pianogirl, I'm sorry you're feeling so over-reactive. It's a difficult way to feel and often comes from some deep inner turmoil (speaking from personal experience.) Each of us is different. Some people have hyper-reactive nervous systems and benefit from medication. Others benefit from talk therapy or support groups. Still others need a combo of medication and therapy.
If you don't have a therapist, it might be a good idea to think about finding one. Sometimes a primary care provider can make a referral to someone reliable. I wish you the best.
