hij3469, Hello and welcome to PC. There is a national support alliance that may be in your area. They may also be able to tell you if there are other support groups not affiliated with them. This is a peer run support group. The link is below. It is called DBSA for short.

Also you can check with your local psych hospital or hospital and ask if they have any referral numbers for you. Sometimes churches have these groups and I have found that there is more help as far as support groups in larger metro areas however you never know.

Also some counselors have their own support groups but there is usually a fee and other stipulations involved. You could check with your insurance carrier if you have that available to you to see what counselors are available and some have info about these groups online.

I facilitated a depression and bipolar support group in the Dallas-Fort Worth area some years ago so I know that they do exist. I hope that you can find a group in your area and I wish you the very best.
