CrystalSteph - I TOTALLY understand the anxiety about driving. My first week driving on my own?

...Totaled my car. My little coupe vs. a Caddy. Luckily no one was hurt (And we were both at fault, tickets for all!), but I was already a nervous driver and that really made it worse. But there is always strategies to help. I have a little phone stand in my car and use Google maps and let the directions app 'talk' to me on directions if I have not been to the place before or that often. I live in a city where the traffic is insane, so I usually plan ahead and try and take back roads. Sure, takes longer to get where I am going, but less chaos. Plus sometimes I've found some cool places to go through that.

I also agree with some posters on the whole 'reward' thing. Try and treat yourself during or after driving. I tend to wind up getting coffee/something to drink.

Talking yourself up helps. I usually end up talking back to my phone when she gives directions all silly like. Absurd, but it helps.

And of course, practice. Like most things, driving takes time to master. Though, driving in snow is SO not fun and I do not blame you for being all 'Ew' about it. Even very experienced drivers go 'Ew' about snow and ice.
