That really bites with the ambulance ride. Now, why wouldn't they tell you whether or not there are any beds? That makes no sense to be wasting all that money driving all around town to find a place with a bed. How absurd! Can your doctor/counsler call and ask? Or could you walk into a medical emergency room and say you're feeling suicidal? They'll have to direct you directly to a place that has a bed available. Wouldn't they? And your insurance will pick up the emergency tab if you're admitted, won't they? Or do you have to actually try to kill yourself for it to be an emergency that insurance will pay for?
