I've found that the behavioral aspects of depression can linger even after the feelings are gone. I recently had a very long episode and even after I came out of it I felt like I was still having difficulty getting up, making plans, taking initiative…I felt OK but I learned a bunch of bad habits while I was down.
Just try to get out. Ask yourself, "What would happy yunomi do?" and do that.
I too can't say I'm happy I encountered depression but I like to tell myself that every episode is an opportunity to learn more about how to manage or stop the next one.
