Ah, I'm sorry to hear that.
It must be tough to have those memories return at this time now that the situation is "reversed".
I've never been in such a situation, and I guess I can't say what I would do for sure, but I think the best thing to do would be to help her anyway? You can never know your mom's true reasons for why she did what she did.
