I've been trying to get my PCP to diagnose and treat mine so I don't have to wait so long for an appointment, get to know the pdoc, etc. He concurred it would take too long and my hyperactivity is interfering with my sleep. I was diagnosed when I was 18 but being older now, I'm being met with resistance. I tried Ritalin and had *horrific* side effects. Anyway, the answer I got was "take it or leave it". So its left. Pdocs here are booked 6 months out, so..I feel for you and am sorry you're having a hard time
