Soy protein products are pretty good and tofu is fun to work with.
An English Muffin with peanut butter and a drizzle of honey is good: both the PB and the Engish Muffin have protein.
Hummus is good too--it is garbanzo beans.
Beans and lentils are good sources of protein and with some veggies and broth (vegetable is good!) makes a good, quick, and easy to digest meal.
I had several bouts of pancreatitis last year (ended up having part of it removed) and subsisted on cooked veggies, yogurt, and blueberries (which are so full of anti-oxidants), and fish when I was allowed to eat! The treatment is no food!!
I also took some Acidophilis (the active stuff in yogurt that's good for your digestive tract) that is available at the pharmacy in pill/capsule form.
I don't do protein shakes because I don't trust the makers of the powders, just my hang-up. But I do drink a lot of water. Water just helps my everything, it seems!
My main diet now is soups, fish, cooked veggies, high figer cereals with fruit (blueberries!! no matter how much they cost!).
