But it's like I developed a phobia? to sharp objects penetrating the skin, not actually internal tissue. Other people such as doctors and nurses have commented on my reaction.

When I had exploritory knee surgery, I couldn't touch the incision sites for several months. Even now I still don't like touch the scars.

For you, does it also imclude seeing other people's skin being cut? That has nothing to do with control...least not concerning the person watching.
